Hmm, not sure about that area, but if you're willing to go a little farther north, I can give you the name of a great campground that we've used for several years now near Point Pleasant, NJ.
They have camper rentals, cabin rentals and tenting... We tented one year, rented a camper one year and last year, rented a cabin. Very nice campground and very clean.... Here's a link, just in case you want to take a look http://www.cedarcreeknj.com/index.htm
We would drive over to the State Park and use their beach. It was $6 for a whole car load instead of $6 a person! Really nice beach and you could still take a cooler with food and drinks.

Sorry I don't know of any in NJ, but if you ever come to Michigan check out Ludington State Park. This place is awesome. It is nestled between Lake Michigan and an inland lake and is on 5300 acres. There are sand dunes all around the park, miles and miles of hiking trails (one that goes to a lighthouse on Lake Michigan), deer that come right out in plain site. My daughter took her camcorder one year and has a tape of the deer with people standing within feet of them. Also there is a river that runs from the inland lake to Lake Michigan. If anyone ever gets up to Michigan it is a must see. You will want to make reservations because it is the most popular campground in Michigan.
