Lately I have been hearing a lot about social networking/marketing and wanted to see what you all do if anything.

Of course we all should know about My WAHM Space but I have been starting to use Twitter http://twitter.com//angienewton and I originally joined Facebook to see a friend's pictures but now I'm getting more into that too http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=618516908

I know there are a lot more websites for social networking and I have a lot to learn Smile

Well yep, of course I'm on MyWahmSpace, lol!

But, as far as others go ... I do have a page on MySpace but it's not even completed. I use that more to find "old friends".

For the rest ... I'll be quite honest w/ you ... I just haven't had the time to get into as much as I'd like. I have plans on doing so. Does that count?

I've seen the effects of social networking - too good that I can't help but want to join in. I've read a lot from many who swear by it. Yes, I've heard that some think it's just a fad and will "die away" but I have to say, I strongly disagree. I mean come on ... how many people do you know that don't have a MySpace page? Do you really think it's a fad and just going to go away? Nope, I highly doubt it.

And the way google has been dancing around PR and search engine listings ... many, many are turning to social networking to make up for it - and they're succeeding.

PLUS, this isn't something Google can control. For example, if you're involved w/ something considered "black hat", and they find out ... they can ban you and drop your PR. (And well they do that even if you DON'T participate in something "black hat", lol!)

The traffic coming from social networking has nothing to do w/ the search engines Wink

Well, I probably went above and beyond what you asked (what's new, lol) but ... thought I'd share my two cents.

Thanks for the reminder that I need to add MORE social networking to my daily task - because besides, it IS quickly becoming the "new internet" - Web 2.0 is on the rise Wink

Take care,
Anita Razz

Well my friend sent out a twitter message and we immediately had 4 people join my online party. lol It's powerful and I am Embarassed embarrassed to say I have not taken advantage of all of the social networking sites. It's difficult when you are spread too thin. I'm working on getting some spring cleaning of sites done!

Wow! I'd say it's powerful! I really need to create a better schedule for myself and include more social networking. It's more than obvious where it's headed, rofl!

Take care,

Social networking can be very powerful, but I think you have to be very careful as Val said, about spreading yourself too thin.

I think you can get so caught up in too many sites that you wind up losing precious time in building your business.

I think it can be effective if you are in the right places for your business and are smart about it.

You can make some great contacts. I don't think there is a one-size fits all for social networking and honestly? I don't think it's all that much different than business networking, except on a different platform.

Well said Patty!

I want to do more and I do see there is definite potential. However, that's why I've only chosen a couple. I have too many other more important things that need to be done.

This is exactly why I don't visit many message boards either. It's easy to get too caught up in things such as these and you end up spending entirely too much time there - and not enough time buidling your business.

Everything should be done in moderation.

Take care,
Anita Razz

I use myspace. I have accounts opened at a couple other places but haven't had the chance to work on them, yet. Maybe through the week.

Forums is what I'm stuck in, not in a bad way but I know it's time consuming and I know social network will also be the same. I'm all for not overloading my plate and knowing what my limits are. At this time, social networking sites are not on my plate...I'm sure it will change over time.

Yep - you certainly have to set yourself limits. You can't let it take over all of your time. However, if you can work it in ... I highly recommend picking some sort of social networking and use it. Social networking is becoming more and more huge every day and can be a great addition to your marketing efforts.

And while you're picking ... don't forget to check out www.MyWahmSpace.com Wink (Of course you knew I had to throw that in there! lol!)

A team member and I started a group on Facebook last month. So far, 50 people have joined and hosting leads are starting to come in. I say hey, it's free, has potential to reach lots of people, then it's worth it!

Cheers!

I just got a facebook finally..... My oldest daughter thought it was terrible that I had one!!! I entered that I graduated from Blairsville High School, so all her friends showed up as potential friends! lol!

Here's mine: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1378916765&ref=name

I've enjoyed it so far because I found people that I was in a previous company with... that was neat to see their names and catch up with them!

Opportunities these days are looking for investments at any level. A simple loan can be taken to finance the money for the investment. One of the better options out there is stock trading, the margins are high and the business is successful. Another one is real estate investment, for which one can get a mortgage refinance services to get a lower interest rate loan. Other small opportunities are providing insurances like cheap car insurance or supplying services in the finance sector like merchant credit services.
