I read in my Country Home Magazine last night that we should not throw our dryer lint in the trash.

It said we should throw it outside as the birds like it and they take it into their nests.

Has anyone else ever heard of that?

Hmmm ... I've never heard of that before. Wow - and w/ my new dryer that I swear MAKES it's own lint (no, I've never gotten that much lint from a dryer before in my life, rofl) ... that would make some mess in my yard!

Anyway, while we're talking about lint. I'll tell you a little tip I learned about lint. Did you know that lint is VERY flamable? Try lighting some on fire some time. A boy scout - yes, a boy scout taught me this, lol! Take it with you camping to easily start a camp fire!

Take care,
Anita Razz

Yep, we make fire starters for girl scouts Anita....

You get the egg cartons that are made from cardboard, fill each little hole with dryer lint, then melt candle wax over the top of each hole. Rip off a few and throw them on the fire and it really helps get the fire going!

Those are both great tips, thanks ladies!

My kids will love the idea of helping the birdies build their nests. Smile
