How to Handle Vacations

Will your business be taken care of while you are gone?

Many make several mistakes when announcing their upcoming absence. No matter if it's a family vacation or a hospital stay, you need to make sure customers will not be wondering where you are while you are gone.

Here are a few tips on handling vacations of any kind.

1. Don't Just Email Groups
Often times I see messages on business networking groups announcing they are leaving for a week. Chances are there aren't many of your customers on those groups, so it's really not hardly needed. Don't make a networking group your own personal announcement center hoping things will be fine if just a few people know your gone.

2. Put a Note On Your Site
More importantly, put a note on your CONTACT page. Make absolutely sure your customers know before they contact you that there will be a delay. You should also have your hours of business here, and additional emergency contact numbers (such as corporate contact) while you are gone.

3. Don't Set Up Autoresponders
There is nothing more annoying to newsletter publishers than getting hoards of "out of the office" emails. Setting up general autoresponders may be going to the wrong people as well, and extremely irritating to those who email you multiple times while on vacation knowing you are gone. Instead, make sure you email your own newsletter list (which you should have!) before you leave. Along with the note in several places of your site all the right people should know you are gone.

These are just a few tips to handle vacations and sick time. If possible, try getting a friend or family member to handle your customer service emails and calls while you are gone so you can avoid this problem all together. Now would be a good time to start training someone so they are ready for when you are gone. Hiring a VA is also an idea, if just while you are gone.

Enjoy your vacation!

Opportunities these days are looking for investments at any level. A simple loan can be taken to finance the money for the investment. One of the better options out there is stock trading, the margins are high and the business is successful. Another one is real estate investment, for which one can get a mortgage refinance services to get a lower interest rate loan. Other small opportunities are providing insurances like cheap car insurance or supplying services in the finance sector like merchant credit services.
