Some of these blog/social networking sites are borderline for fun along with being beneficial to your business. Twitter is one of them.
You can check out www.twitter.com and if you like it add to your following www.twitter.com/busymommaval .
So twitter is a mass of quick IM type messages. Some of the messages are quick little personal notes. But we all put in projects as we finish them, cool blog posts we've made or read, or I even ask a lot of questions so I can get quick answers.
Generally you have it pulled up on a tab or window on your browser. But I also have the twitterfox plug in so it's in my lower browser bar and I can do quick updates and still work. Very similar to an IM window.

I really like twitter. I haven't tried a lot of social networking sites because they just seem too overwhelming. Twitter is easy because you can just jump in and answer the question, "What are you doing?" Most of the time, I can answer that one!

Starting to really get the hang of Twitter. Here is my Twitter link
I also forget to pull it up sometimes. I only have Twitbin but now I'm going to see what that Twitterfox thingy is that you mention, Val.

I really like the twitterfox. I can see if there are new twitters and then click the little icon. Or click the little icon and then make a quick statement. Otherwise I end up with a tab up all day in my browser and I have enough tabs open all day long.
