This week's article focuses on how we promote our business. Just about all of us are probably guilty of this at some point, but you can easily change the way you advertise. After reading the article, take a look at your current promotions to see how you can improve on them.

The Company or the Product?

Last night I happened to catch a commercial for a well known breakfast cereal. The commercial itself didn't stand out to me, but at the end I happened to catch them say "by Kellogg".

It got me thinking - when you do promotions online or offline, are you promoting your products or the company itself?

Let me give you an example. Let's say you purchase a small ad on a website. On this ad you have your company name and a general overview of your business (i.e. "Home decor"). The ad right under yours has a picture of a beautiful lamp, a short description, and a note that it's marked down. Which ad do you think is going to get more clicks? (Assuming both are on a website related to home decor, that is).

Think for a minute if Kellogg promoted it's name instead of it's cereal on commercials. What if instead of showing people eating cereal, they talked about how many years they've been in business and just said "we sell cereal". Don't think those commercials would be very effective, now would they?

Point is, even if you are in a very well known company like Tupperware or Pampered Chef, you need to promote the products and not just the company name. There's really no need to promote a well known direct sales business in a general way, since everyone already knows it. What you need to be focusing on is the products themselves. New products, popular products, and products on sale. NOT the actual company.

So the next time you do marketing of any kind, feature your products instead of your company and see how much better of a response you get!

Opportunities these days are looking for investments at any level. A simple loan can be taken to finance the money for the investment. One of the better options out there is stock trading, the margins are high and the business is successful. Another one is real estate investment, for which one can get a mortgage refinance services to get a lower interest rate loan. Other small opportunities are providing insurances like cheap car insurance or supplying services in the finance sector like merchant credit services.
