Went shopping AGAIN for Becca's dorm... I think we are actually finished. You should see my living room! It is not a pretty sight right now! lol! And her bedroom is worse! She's spending all day tomorrow packing her clothes and cleaning out her room....

So, Friday is the big day, we move her in to her dorm... They've scheduled her for 10:30 a.m., so we show up in the large parking area and they move us out at the appropriate time because they don't want everyone trying to move in at the same time... so they actually spread it out over three days. So she gets to move in about 4 hours before her roommate does... which she's excited about cause she'll get to pick which room she wants! lol!

So... be thinking of me as I move my oldest into college for the very first time. Be strong, Mom, be strong!!!!

We'll leave there mid afternoon and head to Kennywood Park in Pittsburgh, (that's a big amusement park) Jillian will be spending the day there with the marching band and they have their parade at 8 p.m. and I want to be there in time for the parade! It will be her first parade in full uniform as a majorette!!!!

Friday will be an extremely busy day.....

Bev

Oh wow, Bev! I'll definitely be thinking of you. I still remember the first day we moved Sean into his dorm norm. It doesn't seem like it was that long ago..

That's a great idea about scheduling the time out over a few days. Xavier did that when Matt moved in and it worked out really well... much less chaos.

Hang in there!!!!

Oh boy! Yes Mom ... be strong! Your baby girl is growing up! Wow - I have to say I don't know what would be going through my mind if I were in your shoes. But you have to look at it this way. Your baby girl has turned into a successful young women who has a whole new journey in life to embark.

Congrats Mom & Becca!

But I'll be praying for you too Wink lol!

Take care,
Anita Razz

OH MY WORD! Tell Becca she has lots of Aunties that are gonna cry with you cause I can't believe she's going to college too! AHHHHH

Well I know what I'll be doing after I move my first kid to college. I'll be hitting the bar and drown my poor self while hubby pats my back. lol I'm Irish, there's nothing a good shot or two of whiskey can't fix. Laughing Cry it out and move on. WOW, so exciting!

On the positive side. Hubby and I were talking about this just a few weeks ago. We have limited time left with the kids at home before it's just the two of us. Thankfully we both still want to be just the two of us. lol So I'm trying hard to look at it as something to look forward too even though it is just such a start to a new way of life for everyone.

Have a blast Becca! My positive energy is going off to all of you.

Hang in there Bev and be strong! I only have a year left until my daughter goes to college. She will be leaving right after school is out to work at Mackinac Island in Michigan. Then she will come home for a few days then off to college. It will definitely be a new chapter in our lives won't it?

Thanks everyone... I made it, and I did very well too!

Her roommate is very nice and they've got everything all set up and she's ready to go.... We stopped in Saturday night cause she had ordered contacts and they had come in and she really needed them, so we brought her some groceries (already! lol!) and the contacts.

I got to talk to her for a few minutes today but she had mandatory meetings to be at today and it was a pretty busy day. She starts classes tomorrow! She's excited, yet scared.... I'm sure she'll do great. She's a very smart girl and has always done well in school.

Let's see, we'll see her Tuesday night when the marching band participates in the County Fair's Band night and Becca will come over with a friend who was in the band last year... then they both are coming home Friday night for the first football game and then we head to the inlaws for Labor Day weekend. So yeah, not much of a chance to miss her too much yet! Laughing

Thanks everyone!!!

Bev

Time goes by fast doesn't it. My oldest is just starting Kinder this year, but before i know it he will be all grown up too. Time goes by too fast. When we are little, it doesn't seem like we are ever old enough and every year that goes by seems to go faster and faster and I am only 28.

Athena, it will only go faster and faster. Our parents were right. Thankfully hubby and I listened to that and we enjoy every day because of it. Oldest is 13 and youngest is 10. They are so independent now. Thankfully I am still totally in love with my hubby so it's bittersweet that we have so much time just to ourselves since the kids are getting lives of their own. Laughing

Bev, how is school going for Becca! It's been forever since an update. lol

It's going really well for her.... she's loving it! She comes home every once in a while but likes being up there with her friends....

This past weekend was their homecoming, so she stayed the whole weekend... she went to a pep rally and then went to the game and had a blast! I'm so glad she's enjoying herself!

Academically, she likes all her classes except one! so that's not too bad! lol!
