OK here is the situation - my FT job has a Relay for Life team - Journey - well we have a Relay website - but cannot announce raffles or solicate donations for goods or services
I have donated Tupperware, Enchanted Potions, Kat's Coffees & More., And Greeting Cakes. Plus a friend has donated BYB - To do Raffles with
So anyone have any clues as to how we can get the info out for folks to buy chances for the raffles - My job is not a place where there is public traffic -
Do you think taking pics of the items and me posting to the assorted online groups I am with and then them going to our team relay site , where there is paypal access and entering there would work
I just know that online we could reach so many more to partake in this raffle -
We are soliciting for places to put out donation cans, sell the stars and moons , and signs - which all of us are doing well in this area
We are also going to have a yard sale, a Tupperware fundraiser , candle fundraiser, a coffee fundraiser and a ribbon shape air freshener for the car fundraiser- so these are all covered
I guess what I am saying is I just dont know how to let people know about the items we have to raffle - we thought we would be able to do it on the site and do 1 raffle a month, but we cannot
Soooo any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I missed this post yesterday, sorry.
First thing I would do is do some heavy research on fundraisers because laws from state to state are so different. Since you are a charity, it may be legal in your state, but another state might require a permit. Some concider it gambling, others don't. I know most states do not allow raffles of any kind unless it's a charity. Until you really know what's what, I would not raffle anything off online. You may have to lay down some rules as to which states can enter and which can't.
Aside from that, I would look into some offline resources for advertising your event. Flyers, newspaper ads, etc. On the flip side, many local businesses may be willing to help out and advertise for you since it's for a charity. You'll have to explain what exactly everything is going towards. _________________ ~Kara Kelso~

It was a late evening , after work post - You replied today so that's cool !
Our area is ok with the raffles
We have set out cans (for customers spare change)at ALOT of places - trying to get there before other teams -Also we are selling Biz signs that are hung along the fence durring the actual walk these are $100 each - our team has sold about 12 we have yet to find anyone that will be a $250 sponsor which will get thier Biz name on the shirts of the walkers
We just have ALOT of great items to raffle off , and there has got to be someway to do it - I have a couple of craft shows before the deadline and will do some there - but the more exposure I could get for them the more money
And even if I advertised for the raffles ,in all the local papers, and radio - all the big counties around have Relay events at the same time- for thier counties to raise funds.
Thanx for your ideas and if anyone else has any ideas, please let me know!

Well now I have found out that our online Relay site - can only take donations of a minimum of $10
I cannot believe this they should set it up to take any size - if everyone I knew sent in $5, $3 even $1 - It would TOTAL alot !
I guess that I will hope when I am doing Craft Shows I will be able to get enough folks to partake in the raffles then.
I really think if folks see the raffle items and know they had a chance to win for just a buck or so donation, I can really raise some money

You think that's bad? Recently I did one online for my daughter's school fundraiser - jump rope for heart. Their minimum was $25
Good luck!
Take care,

They do the minimum amount because they get charged a processing fee from whoever takes their payments for them. There has to be a minimum to make it worth it. _________________ Val
