I've been thinking of putting together a vendor fair (real world, not virtual). Anybody have experience with organizing one?

One of my first concerns is liability. I really don't know much about it and haven't even really thought through any scenarios, other than customers getting hurt on location. But with our litigation-happy society, I'm just wondering what if anything would I need coverage for?

I'd love to hear your ideas or experiences with this.

Thanks,
Melissa

While I've attended lots of events, I've never organized one (although I'm about to - we'll be setting one up in June). With liability the first thing I would check on is if the location itself has insurance. Should anything happen, who is responsable? The vendors, person organizing the event, or the owner of the building? There are some shows we go to where insurance is required, since the liability is placed on the vendors. If that's the case, insurance for a home business is usually covered by your home insurance (as it was for us in those cases).

You PROBABLY won't have a problem, BUT .... there's always that "one person" or "one thing" that can get you in serious trouble. Definitely have your rear end covered LOL.

There is one organization that helps to organize vendor fairs and I've attended a couple in Ohio that were very well done.

They help you get organized and prepare, but I don't know what else they do. Their website is a little disorganized, but they've been around for several years and may be able to help.

Opportunities these days are looking for investments at any level. A simple loan can be taken to finance the money for the investment. One of the better options out there is stock trading, the margins are high and the business is successful. Another one is real estate investment, for which one can get a mortgage refinance services to get a lower interest rate loan. Other small opportunities are providing insurances like cheap car insurance or supplying services in the finance sector like merchant credit services.
