This is such a wonderful positive group, that I have stayed away for quite some time since I have not felt all that positive. I am not suggesting a thread for "whining"; but I am asking for "Coping Strategies" that go a little beyond:
-You Can Do It!
-Just Keep On Trying!
-Shake it Off and Start Over Again!
Surely I cannot be the only WAHM that has gone through some trying experiences that have left me either wanting to quit, or at least wanting to quit trying so hard. I would most appreciate any experience and advice I could get. - Donna _________________ Walk your Path with the Light of Love Guiding your Way.

I'm so happy to see you back Donna!
You know you can always send me an email or pm to "whine". I may even have some cheese around here to go with it.
I just did a webinar yesterday at Lauren's open house for stress management and some coping strategies. Putting it all down is a good step. Sometimes just getting it all out there will help alleviate some pressure. And we all know that when you are buried under the pressure, even a little of it off you helps. _________________ Val

One thing I've found over the years is that there is ALWAYS someone who has been or is currently in my shoes.
Is your frustration business related? Kid related? Relationship related? Maybe instead of "whning", you could post a question? Then see what others answer. If you ask a question it's tough to answer with "you can do it" LOL _________________ Audrey

It is TOTALLY business related. I am having a great deal of difficulty building my business. While I am not ready to quit, I feel as though I am ready to quit trying so darned hard. _________________ Walk your Path with the Light of Love Guiding your Way.

As another TW Rep - I can COMPLETELY understand where you are coming from - I have been with TW since Nov 04 and I am still to date my BEST Customer - doing craft shows, fairs, etc has helped to gain me a few new customers, to show folks what TW looks like now - but the parties are few and far between as are the orders
I am not asking to be as Successful as my upline (over $100k in Personal sales - not counting the hoards in team sales) I just would like to have regular orders to help keep me active in a Biz with products that I love - You can always email me, cause I am in the same Plastic bowl without a spatula to stir with!
And everyone, no matter what Biz they are with at times, have had that wanting to give up - almost - feeling - we are human and beat ourselves up - when things are not perfect

I too was my own best customer for years. This was RIGHT as they were switching to online, so talk about a mess. I can't imagine trying to do it now that TW is so available.
I know exactly where you are coming from Donna and I will reply to your email when I get back from school tonight. I'm very glad you emailed me sweetie, I hope it at least helped some already! _________________ Val

Donna,
You can do it (just kidding) LOL. I went to your site and it's a replicated site. While you've personalized it, it's still not "your" site.
Your name is "in the kitchen", now brand it. Find a URL and build YOUR site. in-the-kitchen.com, inthekitchen.com, kitchenwitch.com, kitchen-witch.com Keep trying URL's until you find one.
Now build a site. I don't know Tupperwares policies. Can you link to the products page from your own site? Offer recipes, offer kitchen tips, offer plasticware tips, offer kitchen cleaning tips. Build a site that folks will come ot whehter they wish to buy Tupperware today or not.
Develop a newsletter. Have folks sign up for your newsletter right on your site.
With your own site, you can market the site. You can add more over time.
Give yourself a year. Work on both developing and then marketing that site. See where you are in a years time. _________________ Audrey

At www.businessmums.com/board there is actually a thread for 'whining'. It is monitored closely and is not used very often, but sometimes your customers or suppliers or DH's just get to you and you need to let it out. You know that everyone on the board is coming from the same space so they will understand what you are talking about. Sometimes they are the only ones who truly understand, and the support is amazing.
I'm not suggesting that you do the same thing,( have a whining thread) but I do want to point out that it is OK to whine here because there will be someone who will get you back on your feet. Whining can still turn out to be a positive event . Better a little whine here than giving up on it all.
And Audrey, spot on advice!
Last thing, Witch, if you can be specific about the issues that are driving you nuts then you will be able to get some specific suggestions. Keep in there. TW is a great product. _________________ Anne

ROFLMAO - About died laughing when I read that!
Whine away! Get it off your chest, take some advice, and keep on moving.
I did reply to your post in the goal setting folder about a personal website, and I do believe there's LOTS you can still do. I can definitely understand your frustration because of how easily accessable Tupperware is. Everyone knows the name, but unfortunately just about everyone that buys on a regular basis has a rep they work with (or they buy it directly from Tupperware or in other places, which I think STINKS for reps).
While usually I don't recommend adding a business when you aren't doing well with the first, this one might be one of those times when it's alright. Not only is tupperware just about everywhere you turn (heck I had a table right next to me at a craft show a few months ago!), it's also not very good for reorders. Meaning people don't "use up" the product and come back for more. One of the downfalls to quality one-time purchases.
What type of business could go right along with Tupperware? Something food related? There's tons of food related business out there that might go well. If possible, you could sell pairs of items from both businesses (like a dip mix set with plastic bowls and spatulas...ok sorry still laughing at that comment LOL).
I guess my best advice here is this......."think outside the box". You say you are working hard, but are you working hard trying to do something that's not working? You might find when you think of something completely off the wall the sales flow with half the effort! _________________ ~Kara Kelso~
