Aweber is great and my husband used it for at least a year but he recently changed over to Get Response. Aweber requires you to do a double opt in and that is good for several reasons but it can also be a bad thing. Get Response does not require a double opt in which results in more sign ups. He went from 20 opt ins a day to 50-70 and sometimes more with Get Response. This is just my 2 cents. You are making a good decision with either service it just depends on how many opt ins you want. He found with Aweber people were not checking their email and doing the second opt in and then he was having to deal with support emails wanting to know why they did not receive the information they requested. It was because they did not complete their opt in. I don't deal with autoresponders yet but when I begin to I am going to tack onto his account with Get Response. I hope this helps someone.

I personally ALWAYS recommend Double Opt In. Our subscribers are made aware that they must confirm their subscription by checking their email. To me, if they don't check their email to and click the confirmation link, that's fine by me. Remember, quality ALWAYS over quanity. Those who have not double opted in are those who are quick to cry "spam". With the Double Opt In process you're backed. Getting turned in for spam is becoming more and more serious every day. What with the chance of loosing your hosting because someone doesn't remember subscribing or someone's spouse who shares an email address with the other doesn't know that one of them subscribed. It's just not worth it.
Now this is not to say that just because your subscribers had to double opt in that they'll not cry "spam" because that happens reguardless. However, being double opt in, you have something to prove that essentially they didn't just subscribe once, they subscribed twice.
This of course in now way is saying that Get Response is a bad company ... I'm not saying that at all. What I AM saying however, is that if you have the opportunity to go with Double Opt In, you really want to consider choosing it.
I believe I had looked into GR one other time .... but I could be mistaken. Aren't you limited on the number of lists and subscribers you can have? I know I had looked into quite a few before I settled on Aweber so I can't remember for sure.
Take care,

Yes always use double opt in to cover your butt. I'd recommend telling your husband to switch it to double opt in. If your site email addy gets marked you won't be able to do anything with it because aol, msn and yahoo will automatically stop your emails from being delivered to any of their accounts. _________________ Val
