One of my favorite frugal tips is used bookstores. When we moved to Santa Barbara, we discovered two great stores. We did not have any in the city we moved from. They sell the books for half of the cover price and when you sell them back, you get credit for 1/4 of the cover price. So, we buy 10 at half price, sell them back for 1/4 and have store credit for a few more books. It's a great way to keep enough books on hand for those who love to read.

Now isn't that a neat idea!! Think Hmmm... now if someone would jus open up a place like that around here!

I started getting back into reading again about a year ago. It was just something I kind of stopped doing. (Now I remember why I did it ... LOVE to read! LOL) Anyway, I was buying my books from Walmart and was buying probably a book a week. At $7 or $8 a week, for something you only read once ... well, that really ads up. I'm the kind that only reads something once.

So, I thought it was about times I started utilizing our local library, lol. Well, turns out our local library took all their paperbacks and started what they call an honor system. You don't actually "check them out". You just take them and bring them back as you please. Which is absolutely awesome for me! LOL! So, I just check out about 4 of them and then return them when I'm done. That brings my runs to the library down to about once a month - perfect for someone who's on a tight schedule as it is!

But, dang ... I REALLY like the way the place you're talking about works.

Take care,
Anita Razz

We have an awesome used book store. I especially love it for getting the kids books. Many of their books are only in hardback and I can't afford to always buy them new.

Our used place also buys new books. So there is a good selection of everything. Very spoiled with it and the kids love rummaging through the aisles and bins. Laughing

For those without a used book store, you can also buy used books on amazon. Just keep an eye on shipping. Wink

Opportunities these days are looking for investments at any level. A simple loan can be taken to finance the money for the investment. One of the better options out there is stock trading, the margins are high and the business is successful. Another one is real estate investment, for which one can get a mortgage refinance services to get a lower interest rate loan. Other small opportunities are providing insurances like cheap car insurance or supplying services in the finance sector like merchant credit services.
