Ok, so I have been reading through some of the goal threads and I need to stay accountable to someone as far as business goes Wink

I read the post titled Focus on Business from Jan. and Val posted

Homework:

1. Unsub from any groups and newsletters that do not help you in some way. ie. bring you sales, give you information that really helps you build your biz, or is just plain something you like to laugh at when you open it.

2. Turn off your IM when you are actually working. This one is my most difficult. I'm not helping my friends when I start chatting with them cause they should be working too. lol You will get much more done in 30 minutes if you aren't going back and forth between screens. Let alone the typos and bad links that happen by switching around and not focusing.

3. Schedule your work time. I like to set the timer if I know that the house has to be cleaned. I work for a set amount of time, then go clean for a set amount.

See, the homework wasn't that bad. Your inbox will be so much happier when you get rid of those newsletters you don't even open.

I am happy to say that over the past few days I have unsubbed from a ton of newsletters, yahoo groups, etc. I still have more to go as they come in but I am only keeping ones that I feel benefit my business. I had a lot that had to do with the home party plan arena and since I no longer do those, I'm letting them go.

Today I cleaned up a lot of my favorites, deleted some, organized some.

I'm lucky not to have any issues with IM so I'm ok for now there.

I love the idea of setting a timer so I'll do that once I get my goal in place.

So this coming week my goal is to take care of any other newsletters that come in that won't benefit me, organize folders on my computer/favorite places and work daily on cleaning this office. UGH! And yes, I do understand none of these are income producing activites so I'll keep working on learning the ropes in XSitePro to build my sites and coming up with business goals that I want to accomplish.

So that is where I am...thanks for letting me share!

We definitely have to do the behind the scenes stuff before we can get to the money making part.

I am cleaning my desk right now. Then doing our taxes. I've put them off long enough. Have no idea why, we will get money back. Laughing Just don't feel like taking the time I guess.

Then this week I need to focus on graphics. I need to learn how to make headers. Yes, I'm sure this is a DUH to many people out there. But I have no patience for graphics programs. Laughing I'm hoping to have my headers made up for 2 sites so I can start playing with the xsitepro by the end of the week. I want to get used to xsite before I do the big switch with my main sites.

So this week's goals are:
1. taxes
2. headers for 2 of my sites
3. keep desk clean!
4. start working on the 2 sites
5. map out advertising
6. get ebooks up on BMW

Oh yes, taxes...lol...we haven't done those yet. I'm trying to get everything together so it will be a breeze. THAT is one thing I need to really work on this year (I have said that for the past 5 Twisted Evil ) but I got my files for 2007 all labeled so it's a start.

Great goals, Val! I'll make my list this week.

Graphics are not my cup o tea however Kev does a great job with them. He bought the ever expensive Adobe Creative Suite 2 Premium software so he's going to love that if he would ever get the time to putter around with it. He better after spending that much on it Laughing

Well, I have to disagree with you there Angie. No, they are not immediate money earning goals but ... in the long run, it will certainly pay off. Time is money and working on the time saving projects will earn you money - in a round about way of course!

WHY? Why do we do this? I'm pretty sure we should get money back too ... it's just taking the time to do it. Not to mention I take care of my FIL's stuff too ... so I have like double the work Rolling Eyes

Great goald Angie! Glad to have you joining us!

Take care,

Ok, so this week I have been sick with a fever, etc. BUT we did complete taxes on Sunday and daily I have been unsubbing from newsletters that would no longer benefit me at this time. I have been clearing out old emails, working on organizing my favorites and getting rid of links I haven't looked at...so I think a lot has been accomplished so far.

My next step is to start a big list of things I would like to do and then I will break those down. I'm having a hard time coming up with what I want to do because there is so much. I have been going back and forth on here trying to figure out the best way to set my goals.

Thanks for listening!

Just start with a random list of things you want to accomplish. Don't try to analyze them or figure out how to get them done. Just throw them down.

Opportunities these days are looking for investments at any level. A simple loan can be taken to finance the money for the investment. One of the better options out there is stock trading, the margins are high and the business is successful. Another one is real estate investment, for which one can get a mortgage refinance services to get a lower interest rate loan. Other small opportunities are providing insurances like cheap car insurance or supplying services in the finance sector like merchant credit services.
