yep, savings account! before spending for those sale and discounts there should be an amount separated for your savings. from the career workshop i've been to, one of the trainers said that, "even if you are earning so much and yet you don't have savings, you are not rich. but, if you are earning just enough and have savings, you should consider yourself Rich!".

well, i was surprised and i agreed on what he said. savings is a necessity specially on unexpected occassions like accidents.

You and the trainer are so very right! I wish we still had our savings account that we had BK (before kids) but it's all gone. I / we are horrible at doing keeping money like that. If it's there, we spend it Embarassed We need to have more willpower!

Take care,

I used to be terrible about not having a savings account too.... but now, I have one of those ING online accounts and I have money taken right out of my checking account twice a month. We usually end up with some sort of emergency and end up spending it every couple months, but at least it's there!

I try to take $100 out, twice a month, so we have $200 growing a month. But like I said, it never fails that I have to transfer that money into my checking account for one reason or another several times a year and it ends up being $0 again Embarassed

I keep saying I'm going to let it build to $1000 before I take anything out of it, then pretend like that $1000 isn't there except for a REAL emergency... but the emergencies always seem pretty real.... like paying for fuel for the house in the winter, or a car breaking down, or the waterbed exploding and needing to buy a new bed! lol!

The earlier you start the better, right? I got a free account from citi online that evens pays interest and gives you checks and a debit card. I don't use either, but I am putting aside money for taxes next year... after I make my millions this year! Very Happy

Rebekah, do you have a link? That sounds like something I'd like to add.

I have my sales tax saving account that I add more into each month. Plus hubby and I have started a small account. But it's so hard. We've never had the money to go and travel and now that we can, it's hard to put it into a savings account instead. Sad Stupid responsibilities?

http://direct.citibank.com/
That is the link from google, but it is called Citi E Savings Account if you have to search.
They only require $1 in the checking and then the savings account gets 4.5% apr- which is pretty good- and you can make your millions with compounding interest!

Opportunities these days are looking for investments at any level. A simple loan can be taken to finance the money for the investment. One of the better options out there is stock trading, the margins are high and the business is successful. Another one is real estate investment, for which one can get a mortgage refinance services to get a lower interest rate loan.
