Just wondering if this book would be a good investment. I have been going back and forth on this over the last year but I THINK it could really help me.
Anita, I found a link to the book on your site, so I would use that for sure Have you read it? I would love to know if there is a possibility to get it in print in addition to an ebook. Anyone know if that's possible?
Thanks! _________________ ~Angie~

Thanks ladies! I'm thinking I'm not looking into PPC but what do I know? I read some of the reviews on Amazon (thanks for the link Anita) and I think I will have to pass on this one. It's probably too in depth for me
But I would like to find something that has the basics of affiliate marketing. Things like how to keep all the affiliate programs you sign up for ORGANIZED and stuff like that. Any tips on affiliate marketing books that are easy to read and understand for a slow learner like myself? _________________ ~Angie~

Yep, there are lots of resources for you to check out.
Free Affiliate Marketing Mini Courses
Tips For Successful Affiliate Marketing- includes a link to a free affiliate marketing ebook course
Now what kind of affiliate programs are you looking to join? You really shouldn't need much of an organization program for them. Less is more Focus on a few for your site and then talk them up with blog posts and anything else you can add.
Otherwise the easiest way is to just go through clickbank, commission junction or shareasale and then everything is right there for you to grab when needed and lots of different options to choose from. I personally prefer to go with other WAHM's now since so many of them offer affiliate programs. _________________ Val

Here's what I do.
I went to Staples and bought a bunch of those inexpensive color file pocket folders that the have the .10 ones at the beginning of the school year.
They come with a little 3 clasp thingie in the middle so that you can put loose leaf paper in. I bought a bunch of different colors.
Each one is designated for each of my affiliate sites (except for sites like Patty Gale Designs or Design Studio Cafe). PGD and DSC get 3 ring binders.
I have my checklist for each affiliate site, I add some loose leaf paper and that's my organization.
Then, I bought one of those pretty scrapbooking carrying cases, the one with the deep dividers and each one of the folders goes in there for storage.
Then, I have a separate binder that stays on my desk all the time and itcontains my montly calendars (so I can see the month at a glance) , weekly to-do calendars (all printed from Outlook) that I write on, a section for ideas and a printout of all my logins/passwords.
So, when I need to work on an affiliate site, all of the information, affiliate products, checklists, content info, etc. is right there in it's own folder, I can have it right on my desk with my caledar stuff and see exactly what I need to do.

Thanks for the links, Val! I signed up for the mini courses and just realized that I have the other one, The Affiliate Masters course that I printed out from 2005. I wonder if it's changed and if so how much. I don't want to have to print that sucker again
As for affiliate programs I am looking to join...it would be anything to do with gifts (flowers, candy, etc), weight loss/fitness (magazines, fitness equiptment, etc). I do have Amazon already but wanted to look into clickbank, shareasale and those types. I have had the hardest time on Commission Junction trying to find what companies they promote (I still can't find it). I also have joined wahm affiliate programs.
I guess where I am overwhelmed is the organization of each affiliate program and what they offer (I see Patty posted below so I'll see what she recommends).
Thanks so much for taking the time to help me! _________________ ~Angie~

Thanks Patty!
So you do not have a separate folder for every affiliate program you sign up for but rather one for each of your affiliate sites (so mine would be Americas Gift Connection, Losing It and Loving It, etc)? Then in each of those, you have the affiliate program info that you would use for that site?
When you mention checklist what does that include?
On your calendars do you just add what you want to accomplish each day on it? Can you share some examples?
I was given a suggestion a while back for putting all my usernames/passwords in an address book so I am good there. THAT was a big help. I just had a terrible thought...what if I lost it? LOL I think I'm going to copy each page and put it in the safe
Gosh Patty, I think I just need to take a day trip to WI and come visit you _________________ ~Angie~

Right Angie. Each folder keeps track of just the affiliate programs for that site. For example, I primarily use the larger merchant services like Linkshare, Shareasale, CJ. So, for each affiliate site, I write down only those merchants that I am using for that site, and who the service is... i.e. I'll write "ABC Company - Linkshare" or something like that.

My checklist includes every step I need to take in order to get the site accomplished from idea to actually being online. Everything from domain registration, keyword research, affiliate product research to a checklist for offpage strategies, too.

I like to see the month at a glance and then I print off the weekly pages for that month from Outlook, too. I bought some of those monthly tab dividers to keep the months separate. So, when I have the binder open on my desk, I can look at the month on the left and a weekly page on the right.
For each affiliate site, I give myself a timeline, so I can use the monthly calendars to plan out at least 3 months ahead of time what I want to see online by the end of that 3 months.
Then, I use the weekly's to actually write out the "to do's" that need to be accomplished for that week. For whichever site I happen to be working on, I can just then take out the folder for that site and go from there.
I totally agree about keeping an extra copy of the U/P's somewhere else other than just an address book.
I have two portable hard drives that I use for my backup systems. These are from I/O Magic and are not much bigger than a deck of cards, but are 80G each in disc size.
On one, it is a complete backup of my desktop hard drive and the other is just my graphics work and my Xsitepro Data folder, this way I can access those easily if I need to. Plus, it gets my graphics off of my hard drive, which is only 80G, but saves me a ton of hard drive space.

Come on up anytime, Angie! I know we've talked in the past about meeting halfway. We should really plan that for some time this summer.

I *love* this idea! That would make certain things more accessible for me not to mention the space saved! I'll have to look into doing this.
Although I have to say I really love all your ideas, lol!

Yeah, I was thinking about that too. But ya know what? If you're not from around here it's easy to get confused with all the "Mifflin..." we have around here! LOL!
But yeah, I'd certainly love to meet with ya!
Take care,
