As I was reading my parenting magazine, I saw a few mlm reps with ads. I looked up the prices, and truly, for the amount of exposure, it did not seem so outrageous. I was wondering if anyone has tried a national magazine advertisement, especially with a network marketing company and if you were satisfied with the results.

Well I haven't personally and especially not for direct sales. But I do know a lot of scrapbook business owners that put BIG money into the scrapbook magazine ads and had great turnover from it. I've never checked out the price on the parents mag vs. the scrapbook one's but I'd assume they would be comparable in outrageous prices.

I have also known some that have pooled together and did ads. Similiar to what you and your friends did. They put together a site and then did the ads for that site. So it benefits all of them. HIGH TRAFFIC! If you can swing the funds, I believe you will reap from it three fold.

Oh and another thing. Just make sure that you gear that add towards pampering Mom or the whole preggo. Wink It dawned on me that you may go with one of your companies generic ad versions. I'd say get one designed that is different. Wouldn't cost you much.

Thanks for the tips. I just looked into it tonight, and it is probably less than a reasonable pay per click might be. Maybe after I make those millions... Very Happy

Or on the way to make those millions. If it is a few of you sharing the cost.

I know it can be a lot, but you will get a big targeted audience if you make the button/banner ad correctly. If it is targeted to what you do, then your click through will be incredible!

Again, I haven't seen the actual numbers. But I know the scrapbook mags are in the $1000's. Makes you freak at first. Laughing

This is the site that has a lot of the parent magazines on it in case anyone is interested in those rates:
http://www.americasmedia.com/
It has Baby First Years, American Baby, Parenting, etc. and some Small Biz Opt and some other business mags. They have a few options for the different magazines, including per word and per inch.

I have put ads in magazines in the past. I used a company name, my response was great. Folks knew who/what they were responding to.

My friend used a blind ad, meaning no company name and she was sorry. She got thousands of calls, but most were not interested in what she was offering.

I'm going to do that someday, lol! Seriously, this is something I planned on doing a long time ago. I even have the domain name I want to use Laughing The prices can be scary.

Thanks for sharing that link Rebekah!

Take care,

You can try advertising in more local magazines, which don't cost as much, to fine tune your marketing pitch/advertising look before you fork out $50,000 or so for an ad in Parenting. Just my little 2 cents.

Good luck!! Let us know how it goes!
