Hi,,Im just going to Jump in here. I am not happy with my website
www.ladybrescentsations.com/ I went with a place (not wanting to be unkind) that had me put all these ads on my frontpage,,I get traffic but no sales,,,I found out a "link" page is not good and banners are the worst, So where do I begin?? I have been with this hosting for 2 years and I have not been making the money I know I can. I feel like a failure and dont know where to turn. HELP???

Don't feel like a failure ... it takes time Wink

I'm going to take a guess here. Any chance this is Wahm Shoppes? I was with them a LOOOOONG time ago and well, sorry but it was a waste of my time and money.

So, I'm assuming from your post that you want to change hosts? Are you wanting to start over from scratch? I mean, I can't say that your hosting is a direct reason why you're not getting any sales. However, it doesn't look like things are really optimized (which I don't know a whole lot with a shopping cart site). I guess I should ask what exactly is it that you're wanting to do?

I also have to ask is what have you been doing to market/promote/advertise your site. We really can't blame no sales on your hosting.

What ads on your home page are you talking about?

Did you use something like a website builder? How familiar are you with building otherwise?

I will say that your site loaded extremely slow for me which of course isn't good.

And you're right ... a links page really isn't a good idea. I still have one on Mommy's Helper but that's because I built that a long time ago and I have to contact everyone to let them know that I'm taking the page down. Little by little that's gettting there.

Sorry, don't mean to bombard you with all these questions but we'll have to have a little more information to help you out.

Take care,
Anita Razz

By the way ... good for you for jumping right in! That's what we like to see Wink And you might want to consider not posting everything in bold. It makes it difficult to see Wink

Take care,

Yes it did take forever to load and I'm on dsl. That is probably one of the problems with sales. I wouldn't normally wait around if a site doesn't pop up quick.

Let us know what you are looking to change and we can help you.

Just on your home page alone, you need to lose the cute buttons for your navigation and go to direct links. And also get more text describing your site. The banner exchanges and such can stay, just move them down farther so they don't look like they are part of your business. But definitely get more information on that front page.

you are right Anita it isnt the hosting place although I spend 60.00 every three months for hosting. I went with Craftsite Medic for some of my advertizing and although I have traffic,,I do not have sales,,,I paid for one year and got a year free for being a Prim Mart member. I kinda feel like I am just floating out there and I dont know what to do next. I have been wasting my time on putting Links banners on instead of text which can be changed easily,,I did a vote for us thingy and plug boarding,,,I try to make sure I am getting into the forums and such as this. I paid for this webset and now I find out I shouldnt use the navigation buttons? I am not familiar with website building at all,,this is the first time I have done a site. let me see did I answer everything? Oh as for loading,,isnt that also due to the hosting or do I just have way to much stuff on there?

I am running out the door and shouldn't even be checking the forums. But I just wanted to assure you that your site is fine and we'll help you tweak it some. Smile I have lots of other things to say to help ease your mind. But if I'm late for family day at the fire academy I'll be in so much trouble. Laughing

It's loading slowly because of all the graphics AND the pictures.

Work on content and I will go over the site completely when I get home tonight. I only checked out the home page. Smile

Hey Val, I moved things around,,Deleted banners but not the text links or should I dump the links page?? I do have a links Directory but have nothing in it. I was told by my hosting I have to have their banner on my site (which I understand) but its in the Link page(the only banner left),,,,
Should I take OUT the vote for us page OR just the banners themselves??
I still have to add more text to my frontpage. Im so sorry for all my questions,,,,I just want a better site,,Thanks for helping me Val and Anita!!

Don't apologize for asking questions ... not necessary Wink

Of course I don't have a bunch of time right this moment either (sorry! LOL!) But I will be back! And we WILL help you!

Now let me get this straight, you pay $20 a month for your hosting but are required to have their banner on there?? Who exactly do you host with?

I think one thing we need to do is work on your marketing. I have lots of ideas for you such as reports, blogging, a newsletter. Do you have any of these?

I'm assuming you're a rep for a company? I'm sorry maybe I missed it and I'm trying to something here before I have to go. LOL!

I guess maybe we'll have to work on the website first but then yeah, we'll work on your marketing techniques Wink

We'll get you straigtened out!!

Take care,
Anita Razz

Anita, I do understand being busy. I own my own Business. Im not a rep for anyone.
Im in no hurry, as you say it is a constant building and tweaking. I host with http://www.diyestores.com/ and I really can not complain, they have taught me a great deal.
I like the forum for just the DIY information.

I have started a 360 yahoo page for Blogging I really like,,,I have only showed it to a few people,,Its when I go to do it,,I dont know what to put there and then, Im not doing it and ideas come flowing, and I am doing something else,,,Geezzz

I think I need to carry a Journal. Laughing

Newsletters
~ I have not gone this way as I too am still learning my craft and need to work it to stay up with it. But I do have a plan of action for this section.

I bought the ebooks: "Kick Start Your Online Business" By "you" Anita Defrank. You really got me to thinking and I am thankful for your forum.
I also have "Exposed-36 Secrets to Building a Spectacular List" By "you" Anita DeFrank.

I love the idea of writing, but there are times I draw a blank. Like right now I am typing and I am having ideas come to me as I write this post and writing them down at the same time. But then I stop for a bit relax and when I go back to it,,I have drawn a blank.. Both Your ebooks had me deep in thought about my website, I have cleared a few things up on it. but again I need to write something and Im coming up blank . It will come to me eventually.

I bought the reports: "Write That Report" By Jonathan Leger and "$7 Secrets" By Jonathan Leger. Going to Affliate with him,,Hes good.
I need to find out how to setup the URL on my site.

Marketing~ Online~: I belong to a couple forums and have made "secret Buddy" items for some of the members but as far as contacts? Not to many and I know this is where I come up short. I need to go outside the box somehow.

Yes I definantly need to Advertize.
I went with Craftsite Medic. He has helped the traffic but not to much with sales,,I bought a year with them and got a year free for being a DIY client. They place your ads within craft directories.

Right now we may be facing a potential Strike at my hubbys place of work so money is tight for a wee bit. Now is the time to stay busy and work on my business online and off.
I am taking free classes in HTML 101 and Paint Shop Pro 6 . It is through webtech university online.

SO I think I have covered the questions you asked and if I have not please let me know. Have a wonderful evening and thank you for letting me be a part of your forum. I know I will learn a lot,,Im still reading Posts!! Very Happy

First, your host seems to be very slow. I too would not stick around. I even tried opening your hosts site and it actually never even opened. I could attribute the slowness to the quantity of images, but since your hosts site never opened I thing it actually is a host problem. Plus you simply are paying too much.

Second, well there is no second. To me your host is just too darn slow. Your site looks good, but lacks some features the big guys have.

About 6 months ago I found Joomla!. It is a content management system that enables a lot of great features and it is FREE. I am using it on both www.autoartdecals.com and www.ytbconsultants.com I bring up AutoArtDecals.com only because it is a site similar to your own except the product is different.

Find out more about Joomla! at www.joomla.org

For a little more help you can check out one of my sites that is in progress at www.ytbconsultants.info and click on the "Do It Yourself" menu item. Remember the site is not quite operational yet, but it still might be of some help.

Opportunities these days are looking for investments at any level. A simple loan can be taken to finance the money for the investment. One of the better options out there is stock trading, the margins are high and the business is successful. Another one is real estate investment, for which one can get a mortgage refinance services to get a lower interest rate loan. Other small opportunities are providing insurances like cheap car insurance or supplying services in the finance sector like merchant credit services.
