Well ladies I finally did it. I set up an affiliate program for Prairie Soy Candles. Very Happy (You can stop bugging me now Anita! LOL!).

I'd like some feedback if you all have some time. I've got everything completely set up, but still haven't made a "formal announcement". I'm waiting to see what you all think.

Here's the page I set up for detailed information:
http://www.soy-wax-candles.com/affiliate-info.html

Anything missing on that page?

The commission is set at 12% which I think is a pretty good percentage for a candle affiliate program. Since I may be expanding this a bit so it looks somewhat like a consultant program too, I wanted to keep the percentage somewhere between consultant and affiliate. Plus of course we can't offer much more than that without raising the prices of our candles - which I REFUSE to do at this point.

I want to start slow on this so I'm only letting in 10 affiliates. It's important to make sure we can handle the extra business and that it doesn't grow too big too fast. I also want to work closely with the original affiliates so we have everything set up perfect. I'll be setting up a yahoo group here soon so that we can all discuss suggestions.

Too many candle companies have gone belly up in the past year, let's make sure we do this the right way! Wink

Not jumping the gun at all! Everything is set up, so that's perfectly fine to jump right in. I've fully tested it all, but there might be a hidden bug somewhere I didn't catch. The shopping cart script and the affiliate manager script are suppose to play nice together, so I don't see there being many problems, but you never know.

I've got a few marketing materials already in the back office, so please do feel free to dig in. Right now there are links to category pages, but I may add links for individual products too if there's a need for it. We actually don't have that many products, just a whole lot of scents. Laughing

Suggestions welcome Missy! I know you are a pro at selling candles! Wink

Hi Kara,

It looks really good. Is this an affiliate program where affiliates are provided a link to place on their website? It sounds a little more personal than that so I wasn't sure.

Not to change the subject but what is the commission on the dropship program?

Thanks. Wishing you many sales.
