OK, I just went back and checked and it is exactly what I posted - http://shoutlife.com/profile_view.cfm?uid=20590&blog_id=163181&view_mode=blog - but it looks like there are a couple of catches (that I didn't realize before).
First, it looks like you need to be logged into Shoutlife (it is a social networking community like Shoutlife, but specifically Christian based) in order to view it and for some reason even logged in, I have to go to my profile first, then click on the link to have it pull up. Rolling Eyes

I've directly linked to other blog entries there in the past, so I don't know why this one is being goofy, but that's what I was able to figure out.

So I'll leave that post there (it has received 8 visitors already) but don't worry about counting it toward the game. I will find another site I can post to one of my other blogs that doesn't require membership to view, then I'm jump into the game again. (At this point it probably won't be until next week as today and my weekend are pretty packed.) Sorry that this link isn't working for most!

I don't know if it would make things easier or just miss the point, but I am a member of a site called Blog Whammy. We have registered our blogs for comment (similar to here) Each week a different blog is up to be commented on and linked to. We all find a post in that site to discuss or review her site ( or something so that we can create the links).

The beauty of the system is that we know who we are to link to and no one ends up missing out. It needs someone to coordinate the blogs and schedule them but otherwise it is a simple system.

Would that help streamline the game?

Thanks for the idea Anne. It is a good one, however, I would like to keep it the way it is simply for the fact that it's a little easier to track this way and I don't want to turn into the "enforcer" if you know what I mean. Not only that, we would like to keep it "optional" of who you choose to blog about.

But, with that said, it does remind me of something I had an idea about before and the more I think about it ... the more it sounds quite similar to the way you're saying and it will probably end up making me do some of the things I just said I don't want to do, rofl! Yeah, I make a whole lot of sense, don't I?

What I was thinking before was having a "blog of the week" type of thing. The idea would be that we would have a list of participating members and one blog would be featured each week. I would have everyone who wants to particpate email me the name of their blog, a small one paragraph blurb about their blog and the link. Then, once a week I would post a "featured blog". Each particpating member would be required to go to the featured blog and post one comment to any post they would like to make a reply to. But, it would have to be something kind of "worthwhile". Don't just reply something like "I agree" or "Nice post". It would take 5 minutes tops once a week.

This would help the blog owner because others tend to make comments more often when others do AND it would help the commentor because they would get a backlink to their blog.

Now I DO NOT want this to replace this game. I know a lot of us have fell short on this one - present party included here, lol! I would like to do this in addition to The Blog Review Game.

I won't go into all the details here because I'll make a new post to start this but, ideally, I would like to work this on an honor system. I really don't have the time to check everyone's replies.

Anyway, let me go make a new post to start this and I will come back and post a link here Wink
