Here are some ideas for us direct sales/party plan moms. These really work.........I did lots of them in my previous company, and I will be putting them into practice with Scentsy as soon as this crazy pre-Christmas week has passed.
I love doing home parties, so that is primarily what these shoot for, but you could adapt them for online selling or individual orders, as well.
Offer a little something extra for January/February hostesses. Many companies offer special incentives at this time, but if yours doesn't, add a little something special of your own. You really don't have to break the bank on this, so don't give away the farm, LOL.
Have an after Christmas holiday sale. If you have a newsletter, you can contact your customers via that avenue or send out a catalog with a short note. Choose a specific day when you will be home and have a phone-a-thon. For example,
Call between 8-10am, receive a free gift with your order.
Call between 10-12pm, receive free shipping.
Call between 12-2pm, receive 10% off
Call between 2-4pm, receive (whatever you decide)
This works really well. You can also gear it to a special day like Friday the 13th (not sure when they fall in 2008) where for example, your customer could get a 1/2 price item from PAGE 13 of your catalog with a purchase of $XXX.
Promote Valentine's Day NOW.....it's never to early to think of some creative ideas to promote your products. Think of your items that are red, love, etc. Promote to MEN!! We all know how men love to shop. Consider offering a men's/children shopping day for Mommy for Valentine's. You could even offer free gift wrapping. We all know how much men love to wrap, too. ;D ;D
Offer your opportunity EVERYWHERE. Now is a great time for people to join BEFORE their holiday credit card bills start coming in. Always make sure to have catalogs/samples, etc. with you when the opportunity arises.
Start a newsletter, if you don't have one, as it's a great way to keep in touch w/your customers to offer them all these ideas and more. _________________ Sue

Ditto! Thanks for sharing!! As a matter of fact, I'm going to change this a little and make it a "sticky" so it will stay at the top of the list of posts here. If anyone has another others to add, please feel free to do so!
