Does anyone know the best way to clean a wooden cutting board? I have one that is on my kitchen counter top by the sink and it is driving me crazy.
Thanks for your help.

Hi Diane,

Whenever I use mine I wash it in very hot, soapy water. I only use mine for cutting non-meat items on simply because of the bacteria, etc. that can get trapped inside any cut marks.

For raw meat, I have a glass one that I use.

I do pretty much the same as Sue. Although, one thing that hubby has always told me to do to help keep it clean in the first place is every once in a while "oil it down" with vegetable oil. At least I'm pretty sure that's why he has me do that Question Embarassed

Take care,

By the way Denise, I just noticed that you don't have a signature line and you're manually putting in your website link. You've made more than enough posts now, you're able to go into your profile and set up an automatic signature Wink

Take care,

Thanks again Anita. I just added it and a picture too. Am I allowed to put a banner in signature? I wasn't sure.

Thanks Anita,
That's my son Justin. He was 5 months old on New year Eve and we adopted him.
Thanks about the banner, I will add it.

Adding oil helps to keep your wood cutting board in good shape, free of all the little wood splinters too. I use a product that is a botanical disinfectant for my cutting board that i cut meat on. It uses thyme oil to clean it and then I wash it once more with soap and water. Good as new.
