Thanks so much ladies for your help! I am still on the free host but I plan on switching over as soon as I get everything figured out. Yes, no need for that banner at the top.
So I now have my theme up and getting ready to design it!! So excited. I just wish I had more time to invest. I guess I will get it done little by little!
Again, I really appreciate the help you have provided me with all of this! _________________ ~ Marcie

Are you sure you understood all that Marcie? They're both dead on but I think they might have confused me and I know what I'm doing (uh, for the most part - I'm NO techie, lol!)

Thanks! Yes, I followed the steps and got my theme up. I am going to be working on the site tonight actually. I may need some help moving the site to a paid hosting after I am done but hopefully it won't be too complicating!! _________________ ~ Marcie

It will be easy, cause you're not actually moving anything. You just go into your domain hosting and change two things. Easy peasy and it's moved over. _________________ Val

Awesome!
Well, I have been working on the site. It's so addicting. I am about to head off to bed because I am stuck at where I am. I hope that I am not being a complete pain in the behind with all of my questions. I really do appreciate all of your help!
Here is the site: www.writewebsitecontent.com
My questions are:
I want to place "posts" under the Blog page. How do I do this without it posting to all of the pages. I tried to create a category but that didn't work.
How do I include hyperlinks in my posts or when creating page content. If you look in my samples page, I don't have any samples posted because I couldn't figure out how to do hyperlinks.
Is there some sort of plug in or something that would allow me to bold, center align and do all those fancy things to posts without placing codes in? I tried to place codes in to those things in the page content box and the post box but it wouldn't work.
OKay, I think that was it for now. Thanks again!! _________________ ~ Marcie

First off, LOVE the template.theme - very crisp and professional looking, and the colors work so well together.
As far as creating links within your content/posts - that's the beauty of WP.
As you are writing in the "Visual" window you'll see the toolbar at the top of that window. All those icons will help you do a lot of the visual things you want as far as centering, etc. but if you look you'll also see an icon that look like a chain next to the text alignment icons (the lines).
Once you have typed the text you want to be your link EG. an article title, hilite the words you want as your link and then click the little chain icon (a pop-up window will appear). When you see the little window - type in the web address you want to link to and under that choose "open in new window" from the dropdown menu and then click insert. Your hilited text should now be a different color.
While you're writing your post you can save and continue to edit as you're working and you'll be given a preview link then that'll let you see how the page is looking each time you save.
As far as posts showing up on pages - you can create specific categories and assign your posts depending on the topic. Then when visitors click that category heading they'll see a page of all of the posts with that category. Thus it sort of makes a page for you with related posts.
There may be a guru out there who can add to this but I hope that helps get you unstuck in the morning when your mind is fresh! _________________ Lauren

Your posts will not come up under the blog page. Not unless there is something I don't know how to do. Your blog posts will show up in catagories once you post though. That will create a new section in your sidebar.

Lauren told you one way of doing this, but I prefer to just hit the code view and add my links that way. I learned old school handcoding so it's just a knee-jerk reaction. lol

Lauren answered this as well. It's all in that box above what you are typing your blog/page post in. Just hit the B for bold or I for italics. There are some writing like paragraphs that show to the left, center, or right. That will lead your writing to that way. You can even spell check or add an image by clicking the tree icon. _________________ Val

Gee, and I thought I was the only one who did this - lol! Val, it's called being a CONTROL FREAK

Look out Marcie - you've only just begun It gets worse, lol! Am I right ladies?!?

Not at all! That's what we're here for And like I told you before ... there's soooo many lurkers on this board. You never know who else you're helping out - the ones that are afraid to ask. And to me, that's the only dumb question - the one that goes unanswered because it was unasked
Oh and I agree with Lauren 100%!! I absolutely love your theme! Very clean and very professional! Great for your type of business

Thank you again...and again. HA.
Okay, so am I missing something? When I open the link to post a page or a regular post, it doesn't show that bar where you can choose Bolding, Italics etc etc. I know what you all are talking about but why is it that I don't see it? ER! This is really odd. I must be doing something wrong.
I click on WRITE
Then I click on POST
It comes up with the Title to enter, post to enter and then tags on the bottom and then where you can enter in an image.
Nothing about making your post fancy and hyperlinks....
Oh and I had thought of this last night. How about Mata tags so that Google likes your page. Would I just make a code and slip it into the theme editor somewhere?
Thank you for the compliments on the theme. I searched and searched until I found one that was close to what I was looking for.
Thanks for the information about the blog - I will just make one of the categories blog and use that as it. That should work just as well.
Well, have a good day everyone!! _________________ ~ Marcie

Did you manually upload WP into your hosting or was there a one click button way of uploading it?
Yes, it should be there when you click on the write post so something is wrong. OR, is it a very old version. I mean, it would have to be super old and that doesn't seem like you could get your hands on that old of a version, but just another posibility. _________________ Val

I went into Value Applications and installed the WP that way. Could I have made a mistake when I installed it by picking the wrong version or something? _________________ ~ Marcie

If you went through your hosting then I bet you had a newer version, so that's not it. I'd contact your hosting about it. Maybe something didn't upload correctly with it on their end.
Is your hosting through Anita's link? She and Lauren can help you more with that then. lol I get lost in their hosting. Just not what I'm accustomed to and I'm a creature of habit in my OLD age. tee-hee-hee _________________ Val

Thanks so much Val. It is through Anita, so I will just wait till Lauren or Anita see my post - maybe they will be able to figure this out. _________________ ~ Marcie

I'm sorry I can't offer anymore than what Val has offered. Although, could it possibly be as simple as clicking the "code" button at the top of your write box?

Marcie-
When you log-into your WPblog Admin panel - click on the Users tab at the top them click Your Profile and look to see if you've checked the box in the top left corner that says "Use the visual editor when writing" If not, click that then go to write a post and see if the viaul editor shows up with the bold, italic, hyperlink etc. tools.
If that is already checked and still no editing tools, then you may have to contact support. I can't think of what else it would be - those tools show up in the Visual window when you write a post. The other tab in that window might say "Code" and that would be the one you would click if you wanted to hand-code you post (Anita, Val and I do that because believe it or not it is less of a hassle) but for someone who is not familiar with html it's easier to have the Visual Editor.
Hope that helps! And don't worry about asking questions, I learned a long time ago there is no stupid question - and like Anita said there are plenty of others who are learning right along with you. You're just the one with enough guts to ask! LOL! _________________ Lauren

Hhmmm...well, I went to the profile and it is checked off to have the visual editor. I will go ahead and call support to ask what is going on with my non-editor thing. I will post what they say, in case someone down the lane has the same issue. _________________ ~ Marcie

Do you girls want to hear something CRAZY??
Well, how about the editor came up when I turned the visual editor OFF! Yes, I thought I would go and turn it off and then turn it on to see if it would work and when I turned it off the editor appeared. HOW WEIRD.
Oh and support wasn't able to help. Anything that has to do with WP now has to be taken up with WP. I am glad that I tried to turn it off instead. _________________ ~ Marcie

Now that's just plain weird! Well, I'd say as long as it's showing up - go for it!
I've had problems with WP before, and sometimes it's just because of Internet Explorer - no problems in FireFox though!
Let us know how it's going! _________________ Lauren
