I used to enjoy it, and my sister just loves it! But, I have arthritis in my fingers and I have a very hard time with a needle... that's why I like quilting instead... I do all machine quilting though, not by hand.

Ooh! How did I miss this post? I too *love* to cross stitch - now if only I had the time to do it Yeah, I tend to get "obsessed" when doing things like that. I just can't work a little and put it down. I have to keep working and working and working until I have to put it down. Then I'm constantly picking it up and doing that!
Yep, obsessive by nature so I am!
Take care,

I know what you mean. I get that way and can not put it down. My problem is I have several that I have finished over the years and then did nothing when them.
I have 2 projects I am working on right now.
I am looking for a unique Christmas stocking pattern. So, if you have one let me know.

Aha! And that explains the "hate to frame them"!
That's me!! LOL! I have so many projects that are in my "bag". I finish them and that's where they stay ... I never "finish - finish" them if you know what I mean.
And for the Christmas stocking pattern, I'll have to keep my eyes open but it does remind me of what I did this past Christmas. My seven year old son - long story short - every month they have a "wall of fame" project they have to do. Every month, the teacher gives them a "theme" of some sort and then we can do whatever our little hearts desire.
I taught my son how to cross stitch with a very, very basic, tiny little stocking. Oh he had so much fun and his teacher was so impressed. I kind of got the "look" from my husband when he came home and saw what we were doing, lol.
But, then he seen how good my son was doing and was like, well, I guess it's not that bad for a boy to know how to sew, right? Uh, honey, that's not sewing but if it works for you ... it works for me! ROFL!
That's okay ... off topic but it's hubby's turn this month. For March they're supposed to make a kite! LOL! I think he and daddy will have a good time with that though
Sorry, didn't mean to ramble off topic there but you just reminded me when you mentioned Christmas stockings, lol!
Take care,

LOL!! That is too funny. I can see that hubby look!
I am teaching my 6 year old daughter to cross stitch also. I got her the beginner kit awhile back. |

I hate to frame too! I have 3 projects that are completed that need matted and framed, guess I should get up to Michaels and get them done as they are doing me no good sitting in my completed drawer.
This week I am working on a set of pillowcases for a wedding gift. Its a his and hers set. _________________ Shelly

I hate to frame as well. I have quite a few projects in boxes and they are ornate and took lots of time, but they don't get that final completion. lol
I haven't cross stitched in years, scrapbooking took over that time. But I have projects in boxes that will get done when the time is right. It's very relaxing and I should probably do that before bed again so I sleep better. _________________ Val

Hmm ... that would be a great idea. However for me, maybe not so good. I'd never get any sleep! Like I said, I tend to get obsessed when doing things like this. I'd be forever saying okay, just one more section or just one more line ... yeah, the never ending lines! lol!
I didn't know you crosstitched Val!
Later!
