If you have gone through this SEO section than you have seen the links to Cricket's SEO training classes.
These are intense and a ton of information, but it is go at your own pace. We are going to create a private board for those taking the classes so we can help each other through them.
I have taken the class before, but it's always good to do refreshers on important things. SEO is definitely important to our sites. lol
So if you want to join us in the SEO training then put out a shout here. We'll get the new private board set up and let you know. The next class is set to start on Feb. 25th, but sign up early. There are specific instructions to follow and I recommend you do exactly as she says. If you don't you will be overwhelmed.

I've created the private forum. You can see it at the very bottom of the message boards here. Once you've signed up for Cricket's class ... let us know here and either I or Val will give you access to the private forum.

Well first of all, let me say that blogging is your business babe! Before my online training site went up, I made my major money from my blogs. If you are making money from it, or hoping to, then that is your business. 
k, off soapbox, but don't belittle your work in front of me, it makes me cranky.   
So all of that said. Honestly, I do not know how it would work with the blog. I know there is a lot of info that you can pick up and use with a blog format, because you still want you posts picked up buy search engines. But I'm not sure how much you would have to search through to get the info.
I would send an email to cricket and ask her.

I know I'm at a point where I'll get a lot more out of the course than I was able to the last time, but when I went there - I wanted to sign up for all of them! LOL!
It is definitely a commitment of time, but with the extra support here - well worth it! I know I need a refresher - and Bev, I'm thinking about using one of my blogs as the site to work on - so don't let that stop you. Like Val said - that IS your business!

YES it will work with a blog. If you are using WordPress, there is a nice SEO plug in you can use. LOVE my SEO plug in and use it ALL the time. Also much of the keyword research I do is for blog topics. Sure there are "main" areas, but for those really small niches I come across I make a note of them for posts.
Basically what you probably want to do is focus on your categories. Granted there is going to be some information you simply can't apply, but much of it you can (ie keyword research, niche information, meta tags, navigation, etc).
So yes, I would take the class even if it's just for your blog. But I highly recommend getting the WP SEO plug in first. Will make things MUCH easier.

Bev, I have another blogger in my life that feels the same way you do. So that is why I get cranky about it.  She makes good money from her blogs, so I'm pretty sure it can be considered a business right? 
WOOHOO, off and running next week.
Don't forget that this is go at your own pace. So if it takes you a week to get through a single email/assignment from her, then so be it! There is no rush to this.

By the way folks ... Val and some of the others have already mentioned this but remember ... this class is very face paced ... giving you a large amount of information in a short amount of time.
However, keep in mind what Val said ...

The SEO Training section here on the boards will be here for good so you can revisit, post and reply at any time no matter where you are with the class I just want to express one thing ...
Do not allow yourself to get overwhelmed.
Take your time and take advantage of what this class has to offer.
