Note from Anita
Well, this is one week I certainly would not want to do over again! We?re in the process of refinancing our home in order to get a lower interest rate and of course to do this we must have an appraisal. Did you ever notice how long you?ve been putting up with those ?little things? that can be fixed later? Or how about all that ?junk? you accumulate over the years?!? How did that happen? We must have had one empty house when we built it and moved in because I know our ?things? have multiplied many, many times over. Luckily, the appraisal was yesterday and now maybe I can get some real sleep!
On the business-side of things, I must say that I?m absolutely thrilled with the feedback/response I?ve been getting over The Daily Home Business Report ( http://www.mommyshelperonline.com/report.html ) This so far has been quite a fun project and can?t wait to get the first edition out and rolling. It?s one of those ? Hey, why didn?t I think of that before? How much easier can you make it to hook up prospects and recruiters?
Oh, and before I forget ? one last note. Please help me welcome the newest member of our family around here, Kimmie Bringle. Kimmie will be bringing you our weekly child care articles.
Kimie Bringle is a busy work at home mom of four, foster mom and grammy. Growing up as the oldest of twelve, she's learned alot and loves sharing with other parents how easy it is to have fun with their children. Till next week...

Note from Kara
If you missed the announcement yesterday, DirectSalesHelpers.com has something new - personalized candles for team incentives! This is just the begining of several new business tools to be added over the next few months. You can see all the details at: www.DirectSalesHelpers.com/candles.html.
In addition to working on new products for DirectSalesHelpers.com, I'll also be adding more to Idea Queen. It's my goal to have several newsletters promoted from that site, as well as several new ideas in place. I hope to have this finished by the end of this week. Lots to do before spring break!
See you next week!

Types of Online Advertising
We live in a world ruled by technology, in which communications are constantly growing and developing and hence changing the way we live our lives. Online advertising has today become an invaluable tool for most businesses. Print media and traditional direct mail campaigns are on their way out. The Internet can tap into varied markets and attract huge numbers of potential customers. Online advertising can be adapted to suit the requirements of any business. Here are some examples of the choices available.
Ezine advertising is considered to be one of the most cost effective ways of marketing on the Internet. Ezines are electronic magazines that people subscribe to and can download at their leisure. You can still target your audience as with traditional magazines, but ezines also allow you to track your audience as well. You can study how effective your ad is along with how useful the publication is in drawing customers to your business. Traditional printed magazines cannot come close to providing the useful information you need to create the most effective ads. Dollar for dollar, ezines are a very effective form of online advertising.
Banner Ads: Banner ads are not as popular now as they were in the earlier days of online advertising. Not that they are less effective, but the presence of more efficient and productive forms of online advertising has reduced their appeal. They are able to fetch a response rate of 1 to 3 percent only. Though they cannot match the conversion rate of other forms of online advertising, banner ads have not lost out completely; they will still get people to your site.
Another type of online advertising that is proving popular is the 'pay-per-click' programs. These programs let you target particular audiences but you only pay for those people who actually visit your site. In addition to search engine pay-per-click programs, pay-per-lead and pay-per-sale programs are also included as part of the package. In effect, you're paying for positive outcomes and this makes pay-per-click programs much more cost effective than conventional advertising.
Online advertising has evolved as fast as the Internet and will continue to evolve and become more efficient in the future. Even though the banner ads are no longer as popular, but they are still a useful tool. Ezine advertising has already overtaken traditional magazine advertising. And, the pay-per-click programs have proven beyond doubt that Internet marketing will continue to advance. All businesses, whether big or small, will profit from these effective means of reaching a range of customers unprecedented in history.
Desmond Mantor is the Director of Sales and Marketing for Have Traffic a company specializing in providing pre-qualified traffic for commercial web sites, proven to convert to sales at higher rates in comparison to other major pay per click sources. A Week of Fun
At the end of February, the children in New England get a vacation week. The schools have termed it, ?Winter Break?. For many parents, this can mean a week of aggravation. To make the week one of fun and joy instead of headache and torment, we came up with a ?Week of Fun?. Here?s how you can have a great week too!
Monday ?
Today is ?Spa Day?. You and your child will spend the whole day pampering yourselves. There are so many ideas for ?Spa Day?! Make a steam room. Run the shower on hot and then put on your bathing suits and wrap yourselves in towels. Before you run the shower, close the drain and drop in a fizzy smell pretty of some sort. It makes for a very aromatic environment. Put a large towel on the floor and pretend you?re in a sauna room. Enjoy the steam as it opens your pores and relaxes you. Talk with your child about what relaxes them. Make sure you have a timer for this. We usually sit there talking for about 10-15 minutes. When you are done, use the water in the tub to soak your hands and feet. Make sure the water is cool enough to do this! Now it?s time for a manicure! Carefully trim fingernails and toenails and then rub some lotion on your feet and hands and let your child do the same! Children love to play ?Spa Day?! What other ideas can you come up with for pampering you and your child? How about a back massage? First, you can rub lotion into your child?s back and then, they can do yours! Maybe a nice nap with cucumber slices on your eyes! Remember to put in a soothing sounds CD or something calming. Or how about a relaxing movie! Let your child help you come up with ?Spa Day? ideas too!
Tuesday ?
Today is ?Be Nice to Others Day?. You and your child will spend the whole day doing things that will benefit others. There are so many wonderful things you can do on this day! Go through all the couches and chairs to see how much change can be found. Often pennies find their way under furniture. When you have collected all the change, donate it to a charity! There are often charity jars at convenience stores, supermarkets and department stores. Take your child to one of the stores and let them put all the change in the jar. Make sure you read to your child what?s written on the outside of the jar, letting them know where the money is going and who they have helped. Collect a few cans and boxes of food out of the cupboard. Then take the food to the local shelter. Let your child pick out things that they think someone would enjoy eating. Explain to your child that some people really can?t afford a lot of food and that the food donation may be going to feed a child just like them. Go through clothes and see if there?s anything that may be too small and in good enough condition to donate to a shelter. Your child will learn about giving and compassion towards those less fortunate. Ask your child what ideas they have about being nice to others. Maybe saying ?Please? and ?Thank You? or smiling at everyone all day long! There are so many wonderful ways to be nice.
Wednesday ?
Today is ?Silly Day?. Make this day one that your child will never forget! Maybe you have to say ?Quack? after every sentence! How about only walking backwards! Or maybe you can hop instead of walking! Let your child make up a silly menu of foods for dinner. Spaghetti can be called ?Silly String with Sauce?. Juice can be called ?Laughter Serum?. There are a lot of great silly ideas out there and I bet that your child has more than a few ways to make the day totally silly and fun!
Thursday ?
Today is ?Exercise Day?. This is a great way to burn off that extra energy during the vacation week. You don?t even have to have exercise equipment to do this! Jumping jacks, hopping on one foot or even touching your toes can be made fun! Put in a funny CD, maybe with children?s songs on it or something bouncy and fun, then let your child create an exercise for each song. A slow jog around the outside of the house or a bike ride around the yard would be a great way to spend some time exercising. Let your child share with you what exercises they would like to do! This is a great way to get your child excited about exercise and burning off energy! Make sure that you both make healthy eating choices for the day. Because it?s a day of health and exercise, make sure there are a variety of fruits and vegetables available to replace vitamins and nutrients.
Friday ?
Finally you?ve made it through the week! Well, except for this last day. Today is ?Lazy Day?. It?s a do nothing kind of day. Relax and still have fun! Maybe you can watch a movie together. How about spending some time making something special? A wonderful thing to do today is make a scrapbook of everything that you?ve done all week. Then, the next time you have a vacation week, you can look back and add more things to try or do something totally different! This is a day to do a whole lot of relaxing and just having fun!
Well, you made it through the week and hopefully, you learned something about your child. Children are so very special and with a lot of love and a little extra attention, they will grow up to be caring, loving, creative adults.
Until next time?
Stay smiling and hug your precious little one

Correcting Fashion Blunders
?Lisa Barker
I realize that the younger generation is not interested in what I have to say about the clothing industry. But before anyone turns a deaf ear, I want to stand up for moms in my age group.
Yes, we may frown at the pants that are worn too far below the waist and blouses worn too high above the waist, but you kids should know something. We saved you from the horrible dark blue jeans with orange stitching.
That?s right. If the women of today hadn?t boycotted those hideous jeans in the first place when we were your age, you would never have had stone-washed jeans.
We?re the ones that opened the doors to slim, wide, boot-cut and relaxed fit. Otherwise, you would have had to wear these straight-legged things that never hem right with big fat square pockets on the back and stitching that reflects car headlights. And worst of all, they NEVER fade.
Remember those jeans, moms? Our mothers bought them because they looked clean and smart. We climbed trees, slid into first base, landed on our knees as often as we could on the grass and even ran over them with our bikes and they still looked like something purchased from the dorky section of the clothing department.
Now you can buy jeans of a much lesser durable quality that actually have been stained, torn, faded and run over by a car. It?s vogue. But, young ladies, it was your old mother that made the jeans you wear today a reality.
Now some would have you distracted by silly things like the right to vote, fair wages and better health care as hallmarks of the women?s movement. But I tell you that none of that would have been possible if those women had been wearing dark blue jeans with orange stitching. Nobody would have taken them seriously.
Clothes do make the person. They make an impression on those whose respect you wish to command. Thank God and thank your mother for the fashion statement you are able to make today because of the sacrifices we made so long ago.
I don?t know what kind of statement you want to make by wearing pants that barely cover your behind, but maybe I lack the forward vision to see what the young ladies of today will achieve for all women in the future. Perhaps this is just the natural result of a generation that grew up with Barbie dolls without enough clothes to wear. Half the dolls go naked and the rest wear other doll clothes that are too small. Perhaps today?s generation is simply living the fantasy they played with their Barbie doll.
If that?s the case, then I expect to see girls wearing dresses that look like the top half of a tube sock; the ever all purpose outfit for those with Barbies that could not afford her wardrobe and yet couldn?t sew because sewing was so ?last generation.?
But what do I know? I?m a mom.
