Word for word! I can't believe it. Not that I care, but I can't believe it. I was lurking through iOffer tonight, looking at what was HOT and drop ship lists are HOT. So I started to scroll through thinking I'll make up a few of the HOT lists and post them. Then I saw my exact word for word eBay auction description for a list that he purchased from me! I laughed so hard. The only difference is he is selling it for $20 - I think I sold it to him for $9.99 (because the fees on eBay change after $9.99.)

I am still laughing, I must write a darn good eBay auction for someone to copy it and to another entire ecommerce site. And to think he has sold 2 this month (well, to those who left feedback). And he is selling things from the list and having them drop shipped to customers.
And to think I was going to list on eBay tonight then go to bed. I guess I’ll list my list also but change my wording a little bit. “Why purchase the other guys list at $20, when I’ll sell you the same thing for $9.99.”

Well, I like your idea of writing:

Quote:
“Why purchase the other guys list at $20, when I’ll sell you the same thing for $9.99.”

However, when you said:

Quote:
Not that I care, but I can't believe it.

Why NOT care? That's illegal! Your words are automatically copywrited (is that how it's said? lol) But regardless of how you say it ... it's totally illegal and I would immediately contact him with a "Cease and Desist" email. Besides, what if someone comes along and reads your sales page. (Hopefully so, right? LOL!) But, if they read your sales page and they happen to read his also ... how do they know it's not you that stole the copy? You could be seen as the "thief".

Sorry! Just sharing my 2 cents Wink

Later!

You have a very good point, but I tend to ummm mmmm take bits and pieces of other peoples ads also. Never word for word, but I do get a little help from the search feature on eBay. I still think it's funny, I just can't help it. It went from eBay to iOffer, it jumped - I think I'm actually so proud of myself that I can't get angry.
