Just a friendly reminder and some additions ... we have been a little slack in allowing things kind of slide by however some things have been getting a little out of hand so we're going to have to be a little more stricter with these rules. I don't want to have to but, I do not want this community to turn into an ad nework either
You must be a "regular member" to post a special here.
The definition of a "regular member" is that you must make at least one non-ad post and/or reply per week.
If you have not made a post/reply in the past week, all your 'special posts' will be deleted.
You must post an introduction before making your first special post.
If you do not have an introduction post, all of your 'special posts' will be deleted.
Be respective of fellow representatives who are in the same company as you.
If someone else from the same company has already made a post about the same special from the same company that you were going to make - don't repeat it. Don't compete with your fellow representatives. It does not come across very polite at all
If a special is duplicated, we will keep the first 'special post' (determined by date/time) made and all others will be deleted.
Make sure your post is indeed a special.
For example:
A post that lists benefits of joining a company is not a special.
A post about a temporary promotion to join a company for a cheaper price than regularly is a special.
All others will be deleted.
Be respective of fellow reps within your company and fellow message board members. This specials section is an added benefit I allow members to do as a thank you for being a member. I would not like it if I had to remove this benefit - however, I will if it becomes too much of a problem. I work hard to keep these boards as useful as possible. These boards are not an ad network and I cannot allow it to turn into one.
Our moderators also "work for free" here. I will remove the specials section if it becomes too much work for them. I appreciate everything they do to keep these boards useful and will not ask them to do more work simply because some cannot follow directions.
Besides, you are going to get a much better response by getting to know fellow members, allowing them to get to know you, and being respectful of our boards and it's members. Trust me - it's true!
Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
All the best!

You all should know me enough to know that I'm a pretty easy-going kind of gal and I am not usually this forceful. I also do not have all that many rules in place for our community - nor do I usually have to worry about it (aside from our "regular spamming issue".) I'm talking about our "regular members" in this case.
However, that said ... I have yet again had to update the rules we have in place for our specials folder. (This is the second time in less than a week.)
In less than a week I have had to delete 5 posts that did not follow the rules AFTER I updated our rules and posted them here. (This of course is not even taking in consideration as to how many my moderators had to delete.)
Please, Please, Please do your part in helping to keep this community a useful, quality community - not just an ad network.
I appreciate every single one of our members here and I more than welcome your specials - more than welcome.
However, I don't feel as though the rules I have put into place are really that much to ask.
By following a few simple rules - we can continue to keep this a very useful place to network and get to know fellow work at home moms just as yourself.
Thanks again for your understanding and please understand that I really feel these rules need to be in place to keep our community clean and full of quality content.
Take care,
