I am going to add another goal...
Try to get more sleep! I have been so exhausted lately! I can barely keep my eyes open right now! _________________ "What's in your Brown Bag?"

Currently my goals are:
- continue posting to personal blog every day to develop discipline for thinking of what to post every day no matter what
- 3 hours a week on learning how to develop my website
- 5-10 hours a week working on my internship with Kelly.
- I've also got to keep maintaining my house as it doesn't take long to fall apart. I'll have to check in here in about a month to report if I've met these goals. And maybe make some new ones! _________________ Tanya Watson

Congrats on being Kelly's intern. I bet you are learning a ton. I'm a lifetime MM'er. Haven't used it to it's full potential, but I will, I promise. lol
Glad you posted your goals here.
Just a couple of things.
When you say learning to develop your website, what exactly are you hoping to learn? I have a feeling it is everything, but if you break down some topics to hit first, then it will be easier to hit your weekly mark and to ask for places to learn these specific things.
Also, do you have a game plan for the house? When working at home it is near impossible to step away from the computer at times. I have found that if I set a timer it works well. Then I run around for 20 min, then back to work again. It also helps me from cramping up too much from sitting. lol _________________ Val

Thanks for your response. I'm just getting started with Kelly and hope to learn a lot. I believe everyone over at www.mommasterminds.com (especially lifetime members) have so much experience and insight to share. And with what they don't know or are not certain of they have a "pot-o-gold" to find their answers. So you must be one of those successful momma's over there! Congrats on your success!
Well, I'm currently working on a Wordpress theme. I have some programming skills that I haven't used for 5 years. But my skills were not in php. So I'm walking myself through a tutorial I found on editing themes and will be working on creating a theme after I finish editing this.
I'm having fun with it, but it is very time consuming. I also want to create a mailing list on my website. I have a few other things listed, but know my confidence will go up quite a bit after I complete editing a few themes and possibly creating a theme of my own.
It'll probably be 6 months or longer before I reach that personal goal. Hopefully I'll find a community that can help answer my questions about themes as I go along to help speed up my learning curve.
I have worked with all the Microsoft Office products. At one time I was comfortable with SQL, Java, HTML, C++, Oracle and Visual Basic 6.0 pretty well. I have worked with the .NET framework just to play around with Visual Studio. And if I go way back, I remember working in DOS and LOTUS 1-2-3. LOL
What I really enjoy doing is creating databases and maintaining them. But I'm so out of practice that I feel like I never went to school at all. Most days I feel like I don't know anything at all about computers or the internet.
With what I've learned so far from the WAHM community, I would like to start off doing some general customer support, transcribing, and anything else that is easy to do. Starting off I hope to be helping people save time in their business. Of course I would like to learn anything that anyone is willing to take the time to teach me

As far as my house goes, I'm going to have to invest in a new timer. I like your idea to use one and will have to make it a goal to actually use it and not ignore it when it goes off!
My journey is just beginning...

Oh boy do I know what you mean about feeling like you don't know what you are doing on the internet half the time. I don't think that ever goes away.
If you don't mind my asking, what is the link to tutorial you are using for the WP themes.
Right now my partner does all of the themes and she is self taught from just years of using it and doing it. I have told her I feel totally inept and am going to create my own theme, even if my laptop has to go through the window a few times. I am graphically challenged and it's time to celebrate when I get my website title on a generic banner. HONESTLY, I am that bad and that will usually take me 1/2 an hour or more. It's much cheaper for me to have someone do it for me.
I found the timer to help me so much with the housework. Oh that and moving my laptop off just the coffee table. Now I have it in the kitchen with me and I can clean the kitchen and answer emails. I was honestly using the laptop like a PC at home and it never left the coffee table. DUH
Best of luck on your goals! _________________ Val

Tanya, you’re NOT the only one! I think I need to do the same! Val, that’s a great idea and something I really need to work on! My hardest thing about working at home is getting away from the computer ...
You know ... just 5 more minutes! lol!

No! It moves! And not just back and forth to work, I knew that. But it also moves around the house. Amazzazzing (sorry, have to be a benchwarmers fan to get that, ) Again, I'm such a dork! _________________ Val

OK, sorry, can't let this pass. I AM A PERSONAL TRAINER BY TRADE! Why are you demeaning the fact that you have worked hard and stuck to it to lose 18 pounds? That is a tremendous accomplishment and you should be celebrating it and not thinking about how much more you could have lost. Don't make me angry by demeaning your hard work. K, but seriously, that is awesome! Congrats on your major accomplishment!
I don't even remember what the rest of your message said because your comment got me cranky. _________________ Val
