Well I was actually at a loss of where to put this tonight.
Audio courses seem to be all the rage right now. Everyone is using them and in a lot of ways I can see the benefits. You can easily have more opinions expressed in one session with multiple interviewee's. You can get info out quickly, especially for those that do not care for reading as much. You can break up recording sessions into smaller courses.
But alas, i am a visual person. I get aggravated by so many audio courses. Now I will take full responsibility for the fact it may be my fault. lol If I'm going to listen to something on my computer, then I'm also going to be working while I do it. I can't just sit here and listen to it. So then I get distracted and have to rewind the audio a lot. Then there are the times that the audio may just get chatty. Which makes it more personal, but alas, I'm low on time to dedicate to the course already and don't always want the chitchat.
Before this single post gets any longer, I'd like to hear what you think about audio courses? _________________ Val

I'm very visual as well - definitely have a better memory for things that I've read, or seen than I do for things I've only heard. I'd be the one sitting there taking notes on the audio so that I have something to refer back to later instead of having to rewind to find the spot in the audio.
Another downfall for me of course is the dial-up. I'm sure I'm missing out on a lot by not even being able really to access any of that - though it would probably be another downloaded file that sits on my desktop and "collects dust" LOL!
The other thing is now that audios seem to be everywhere - how do you know what's quality content and what's junk? Just like ebooks, etc. It can be a stab in the dark, I'm sure, unless they've come recommended or are produced by a reliable source.
Just my thoughts. _________________ Lauren

See, I'm wondering how much research has been put into if these audio courses are even the best format to use. This is why I meant to ask the question weeks ago.
Has it been the latest thing that everyone is just jumping on board with, or have they researched that people wanted this forum?
I know there are still a lot of people on dial up because they have no choice. so that leaves a huge market that you can't get to. Waiting to hear more comments and especially from those that have used or bought audio courses. _________________ Val

Val - I echo exactly what you've said.
I see the marketing benefits and I keep thinking I should be doing it too. However, just as much as I don't have the time to listen - I don't have the time to record, edit and all that stuff either.
I also like to be able to think about what I'm going to say. Backspace and delete if I want to change what I'm saying. I don't have that option so much in video or audio. Not without a whole lot more work anyway.
I've been watching posts about this very topic and I'm surprised to see that the majority has ruled in favor of reading vs. listening. I was very surprised to see this to say the least. I honestly figured the majority was the other way around.
I love it when marketers include typed transcripts along with the audio. I'd much, much rather read it.
