I'm working on a new blog post and would like to add more than just what my kids like. Tell me what your kids favorite foods are, and I'll be sure to link back when I get the post up!

Thanks in advance!
Very Happy

My kids have always had very strange taste when it comes to what you'd think kids would like (strange in my opinion anyway) ...

My 13 year old daughter's favorite meal is steak, mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. (No, that is *not* a mistake!)

My 9 year old son loves crab legs, steak and brussel sprouts. (Nope, *not* this time either!)

My son loves a lot of seafood. My daughter used to love it too but too often her "belly doesn't agree" with that love. My inlaws started this in both of them at a very young age. I'll never forget my daughter at the age of 3 was a hardcore lobster lover Shocked At 3 she would beg them to take her to Red Lobster. Then we'd go to a little local diner and she'd try ordering lobster Laughing Heck, not this past Christmas but the Christmas before, my son asked for a gift card from Red Lobster!

So yeah, from a very early age - they've both always had 'strange' likes for children.

They also both love Chinese.

I can honestly say I'm very blessed with my kids' tastes.

Now my daughter is picking up on my Pepsi addiction but my son is a diehard water drinker. If it's not water, then he'll "settle" for strawberry milk, lol!

They both love all kinds of fruits and veggies. Without hesitation either of them would choose a bowl of fruit over a bowl of chips anyday. And well the brussel sprouts - that's no joke! We all love them! We're the kind of family that fights over the last brussel sprout in the pan.

Take care,
Anita Razz

Ah ha that's great! I just got brussel sprouts the other day almost as a joke. Was at the store with my son and he was being a bit of pain, so I tossed those in the cart and said I was going to make him eat it. Laughing (This is the kid that doesn't ever touch anything green, even on a pizza) Really though, I don't think I've ever tried them so that was the REAL reason I got them. Plus to see is my daughter would eat them too, since she'll eat about anything I put in front of her at least once.

LOVE lobster, too bad none of my kids do. Steak though is one of my daughter's favorites too! Usually make it when it's just her and me on the weekends as our "special" meal together since the boy doesn't much care for it.

Interesting though, thanks for the reply Anita!

My kids love sushi, even the raw fish! yeah, I don't have normal kids either.

You can't keep crab in stock around here either. Laughing

If you ask what my son wants he will always say pizza though. pepperoni, sausage, black olives and pineapple. Yeah, can't even be normal on his fav pizza toppings.

Ahah interesting! Who knew there was so many kids with different tastes? Here I thought some of these "Favorite foods" my kids have wouldn't go over well with others, but maybe I'm wrong. Wink

Well it sure is cool to hear that my kids aren't quite as strange as I thought!

Val, thanks to you getting me interested enough to try sushi, my kids love it too. However, must make note that none of us have yet to try any with raw fish. I'm not sure there's even a place around here that has sushi with anything but the veggies raw. Just finding "un-raw" sushi itself around here is quite a task.

Kara, for the brussel sprouts ...
I believe they are really an aquired taste. A lot of people don't like them. One thing I recommend though ... and this is just how we like them: On your plate, cut them in half and put butter (or I prefer margarine) on them and a little bit of salt.

Actually, I even prefer to put a little bit of margarine and salt in with them when I'm steaming them. Oh and I also like mine, cooked till they're nice and soft. Then again, I like most of my veggies that way. I like them either very raw or very cooked ... none of this in between stuff, lol!

And to get the kids even remotely interested in even thinking about trying them ... tell them they're teeny tiny "baby cabbages" LOL!

Take care,
Anita Razz
